$5.5 Billion Dominos Disaster! You Might Be the Next Victim of Data Breach

Lately, there have been some alarming news regarding data breaches. The $5.5 Billion Dominos disaster has just happened. You might be unaware of the changes that you are the next victim of a data breach!

A few days back, the world was shocked when news about a massive data breach from Dominos Pizza came to light. In an ironic twist, the company which was in charge of running online ordering and delivery for Dominos was the victim of hacking.
The information that was leaked includes names, email addresses, and encrypted last digits of credit card numbers. Using this information anybody can manipulate the financial account and personal details of the victims.

Here is what happened to the American Pizza giant. It all started after a tweet by Alon Gai, (CTO) Chief Technology Officer of cybercrime intelligence firm Hudson Rock on 18th April 2021.

From his tweet, people get stunned by the news of a data breach in American Multinational Pizza Chain Dominos in India. Resulting in the exposure of 1 million credit card details and 180 million Order details.

He also claimed that it’s the same attacker who has recently stolen MobiKwik Data. Hacker is now demanding 10 Bitcoin, which is around $5,50,000 for reselling. Also, the alleged hacker has plans to create a portal similar
to MobiKwik one, where anyone can confirm the existence of that data.

Another Security Researcher Rajashekhar Rajaharia confirmed this data breach on his Twitter account by sharing a screenshot of the Data tree revealing all the details accessed by the hacker.

Overall, this whole act resulted in disaster for Dominos and alerted other businesses about their integrity and security.

It’s an Alarm for Every Business Out There

Recently we’ve been hearing a lot about data breaches, but most of the time they are related to big companies and don’t affect small ones. But have you ever thought that one day you might be the next victim of this disaster?

Data breaches happen when data is exposed or leaked from the system without authorization. They normally happen as a result of malware infection, social hacking, or misconfigured systems due to a lack of IT knowledge.

After the Leak Of 180 Million Customers And 1 Million Credit Card Details, You Might Wondering If Your Information Is Safe

No one is safe from data breaches, but there are ways to defend yourself. Data breaches are becoming more and more common. It’s a scary thought, but it could happen to you.

For a small business in New York, cybersecurity is an often overlooked yet vital issue. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find a safe place for your data. In the biggest this year on news of cybercrime, we have seen some scary stories
from all over the world regarding small businesses getting hacked at the lowest level by so-called minor companies.

Businesses in New York are at risk of losing millions of dollars to cybercriminals. It has been noticed that cyber attackers are targeting small businesses to launching malware. The reason behind this is that most small businesses don’t have
a strong security plan and hence they aren’t protected from such threats. Here, I will throw light on how small business can avoid becoming a victim of cybercriminals and protect themselves from identity theft.

When it comes to your IT security there is no room for mistakes. Data breaches cost companies millions of dollars and heavy fines from the government. That’s why businesses are moving towards managed security service providers.

There are two primary ways that an organization can secure its assets. That is, by managing assets and by ensuring that organizations have some means of monitoring services and assets for any signs of compromise.

Managed security service providers help companies monitor their network hardware and software for signs of compromise and can help mitigate the risk of a breach by alerting the appropriate parties to potential threats.

A managed security service provider will ensure that all data transferred between different departments and services are secure and protected in transit as well as at rest (e.g., hardware and software).

An independent security service provider is a company that provides security services for an organization. They check to make sure that the organization’s security policy is followed and that the organization keeps proper backups of all its
important assets and data. Marketing and Sales enable companies to monitor their assets for signs of the compromise resulting in either fraud or money loss.

Businesses that rely on managed security services will be protected from a data breach or other serious incident because they quickly alert their clients about a new issue, alert their staff about any suspicious activities, and provide employees
with training.
